Re: MIL in Hospital & The Dog

Also agree to call animal control and hopefully he goes someplace where he gets adopted by a family who actually cares. @PutMILinHerPlace - totally understandable what you did, and I'm sorry it took DH so long to clue in. That was totally a manipulation move and your late MIL probably spent more tim...

Re: Hoping DH doesn't fall for the lovebombing - AGAIN

@Keeper - thank you! To be honest, I fortunately/unfortunately haven't been around stepmonster's personality "type" much so it really took me by surprise. So I'll really have to think about some good examples. DH is pretty quick to pick up comparisons - and especially if I can get some humor in it. ...

Re: Hello

Hi Cindy and Welcome! FYI, I think you wanted to post under the "Getting to Know You" topic. This is a great group, but my condolences that you had to join this club! I look forward to your posts and your somewhat unique perspective as both a DIL and MIL (FYI I'm an older mom of two middle school ki...

Hoping DH doesn't fall for the lovebombing - AGAIN

I haven't seen stepmonster since March at a party. (I ignored her). DH has only seen her once and FIL once (separately even though for some forsaken reason they are still together). MIL has been "so sick" and was actually in rehab for a few months. Granted NOT the drug and mental one she should have...

Re: Daughter update Dodged a bullet?

Hmm the format changed and I haven't had coffee yet. Just wanted to add that her career which she's been working diligently towards would have been stiffled without any good reason - leaving her even more vulerable to a control freak.

Re: Daughter update Dodged a bullet?

Sorry she's going through this at the moment, but it sounds like (and from all your other posts) she is SO much better in the long run! She DID dodge a bullet and being stuck in a one-sided controlling marriage with an awful MIL! She's young (possibly too young to get married - but I live in an area...

Re: New here

Welcome Not_a-minion! It sounds like things are going the right way. Is you DH (and any siblings) perfect? No? Well, just maybe your IL's didn't do everything the right way! <Insert GASP! here> They had their chance! You and DH need to discuss this as in what to do when MIL starts in with the pushin...

Re: Indian mother in law problems

I haven't seen you post before, so hello and welcome Hellowelcome! I've heard enough stories to know that Indian MIL's are a special kind of crazy. I'm sorry you have to deal with this! Could you give a little more info - as in what region do you live in? I'm American and I could make a few suggesti...

Re: BIL Hits One Outta the Park

Wow, what a charmer. Your wife's parents probably are drawn to BIL because he's the one who needs help. You know poor guy keeps meeting these terrible women that exploit him! - NOT! Meanwhile, he's a walking loser. He probably is handicapped more by accepting your IL's version of "help", but I'm sur...

To the Poster of "The Plan Backfired"

Thank you for that fun feel good story! Love! Love! Love! That had everything! - How awesome that you have your own business. - Your MIL commented that you "weren't busy" - because you know, if you work for yourself, you don't work - She stalked you - She sent a would-be flying monkey to harass you ...

Re: Of Course MIL is texting me now...

Don't respond. If you do, she has an opportunity to try to shove her foot in the door and keep bothering you. Her own family can't stand her, so why do you have any obligation to talk to her? She's doing this out of total desperation (as if you didn't know). And WOW! Was that ever a NON apology if I...

Re: More updates on Felony-Niece

Not only do I remember its hard to forget! How disturbing and sad! I agree with Ruby that if Drug Boy has any brains (which even if he used to probably doesn't anymore) he would get a DNA test done. If he can't afford it? I'm sure Maury Povich would be happy to cover the cost of this one. That poor ...

Re: My EFIL liquidated my kids' college funds!

DESPICABLE! So much of your DH's problems have to stem from him being raised by Lucifer himself. I don't want to get you even more upset (I can't imagine since I'm livid), but I believe since your DH is considered owner, only his reporting your FIL will count. (And we know how likely that will be). ...

Yes hello momjeans! I think your take is accurate too. Is he retired and bored - or jealous? I really hope he isn't implying that your some how "mooching". And let MIL know its a gesture of appreciation. Off tangent a little (when am I not), my background was finance, and "A Random Walk Down Wall St...

Re: Time To Chat About Holiday Plans

By its very definition, "reach out" means she contacts you and not the other way around. DUH! Since you've already been accused of "playing games" I'd be tempted to call her just enough that it shows up on the caller ID and then hang up. DH's stepmonster played this game and claimed "she THOUGHT she...
