Re: FIL’s horrible habit of opening DH’s mail

You know, you could go ahead and change those addresses for him and leave out the middle man. Then poor hubby doesn't have to wrestle with his feelings of which life to be loyal to.

Re: What has MIL ridiculed you for?

My DD and DS: MIL would criticize everything about them, let FIL say mean things and just stood by without sticking up for her grandkids (I had to) and compare them to GSIL's kids. I think this is the thing that really is the worst (and my IL's are also guilty of this). I think my IL's criticize my...

Re: FIL’s horrible habit of opening DH’s mail

Time to call up or otherwise send in change of address info to those companies. There's no reason the FIL should be getting your mail any longer. If your DH thinks somehow the govt. or other entities don't know where he actually lives, he needs to realize that they absolutely do and can easily figur...

Re: IN LAW SURVIVORS STORY

Well, I was giving shit to my husband about ILs and some other stuff that he started well the result is that I am getting the silent treatment for the 9th day now. Let him play his little game. It's kind of a test of wills at this point. Show him you absolutely will die on that hill. He can give yo...

I know I sound like a broken record, but we moved further away. Best decision ever (I cannot emphasize that enough).

Re: I am loving this enforced no contact

Nope, you aren't the only one enjoying this enforced separation. No unwanted visits is settling just fine with me. Of course, MIL doesn't waste an opportunity to slip in passive-aggressive or just plain cruel BS into messages to DH. Does she actually think this endears him towards her?! SMDH

Re: IN LAW SURVIVORS STORY

Moving several states away did it for us. Best decision ever, hands down. It's hard to give someone crap from over the phone if someone doesn't answer said phone, if someone's slow to respond to messages, etc. I've also been known to delete or throw away a thing or two here and there before anyone'...

Re: What has MIL ridiculed you for?

What has my MIL ridiculed me for?! How much time do you have? 8) She's found every opportunity to make fun of my weight, my career choices, every single flaw of my children (her so-called "beloved" grandchildren), my fear of poisonous critters, my direct nature (mainly because I don't tolerate any B...

Re: Informed Delivery... MIL sent something

After I read it, I would have just tossed it personally. It wasn't addressed to him, it was addressed to you, and you are under no obligation to share that with him.

Re: Its 2020 and the new(ish) stoopid games have begun!

I intercept literally everything addressed to this house and open it to ensure that not only is everyone included, but also that the item itself is appropriate (clothing sent 2 sizes too small go directly into the donation bag, do not pass go). I don't allow anyone to play those games via the mail, ...

Re: MIL's ashes, a questionable diagnosis, and FIL's move

Sounds like your FIL just wants to move on with his life. It's possible the new step-mother doesn't want reminders of his late wife around and pushed him to get rid of the ashes. It's also possible the step-mother is pushing him away from SIL (since she's another reminder of the late wife). It's ALS...

Re: In a strange situation...

Those who know me on here know exactly what I'm about to say, so to echo another suggestion above, here I go...this cannot be said often enough: Move further away if you can. The measure of peace you get when you are too far away for toxic people to disrupt your everyday life is truly priceless. It ...
