A job? It is possible!

Post by Hiddenjem » Tue Feb 14, 2017 7:52 pm

A office environment job opportunity had opened up with good hours close to our home in the country. I had a pre interview and am in the "hiring process." They haven't offered me the job yet. It s encouraging that I have the skills, experience etc. They were excited that someone came in who can type.

The pay would be good. It is a three month position

If they like you, they hire you on with benefits after the three months.

It is five minutes from our house in the middle of "no where."

(We do have plenty of corn fields, flat land as far as you can see , cows, goats, barns, horses, and chickens to see here though.) I actually feel excited when I see the slightest little hill here even if it is man made on the side of the interstate.

On the bright side, very little traffic!

I learned to knit baby booties! The plan is sell my knitted baby blankets, booties and hats in the spring when "craft fairs" start in the spring. They have plenty of those events in the country, People actually come here to buy antiques and crafts. Maybe eventually, I will sell them online too.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Jem, that sounds great! I hope the office position works out well!

I have always wanted to learn to knit. It's on my list. Good luck, craft shows can be fun and I did make money selling my baby gifts years ago, so I hope it works out well for you. Make sure you check early into how to apply and the cost for table space, etc. because they are all different. Keep us posted!

Blueiris,

Thank you! I will remember your advice!

I do hope that you learn to knit! I can feel stress leaving my body when knitting and it allows for pondering for all the good and "everything else" in this life!

I learned how to cast on (first step in knitting) on utube. The best one, in my opinion, was the one with a teacher teaching teenagers. I was taught in person by my daughter for the "rest of it." I find basic knitting to be broken down to four easy steps! She learned all of it on utube. I love knitting!

Watchingmyback,

Thank you for the prayers and positive thoughts!

Congrats on the job! I hope it all goes well.

Youtube is amazing, there are so many useful tutorials on it. I've even used Youtube to fix my car!

Well, while we are praising youtube, I learned to quilt from accidentally clicking on a video there! I was looking for help with satin blanket binding, and now I'm hooked on quilting. Also, I am still amazed that my DH was able to fix our dryer after watching a YouTube video! LOL

Thank you Blue Iris!

I am so nervous I have been knitting most of the day and evening. I knit a baby hat with a home made Pom on top and two coordinating baby botties. They are pinkish watermelon color- more pink than red (melon) and cantolope green (light girly green) with white yarn with flecks of the melon pinkish color and cantolope green!

Thank you Mamarama and Blue Iris,

I went to the interview.

Logically, it would be good to get the job.

My gut feeling is concerned about some details and my intuition tells me.....

We will see how this plays out.

It would be okay, if they don't offer it to me.
